Fire Fighters to access homes in emergencies

A role traditionally undertaken by the police force could now be handled by fire crews.  Surrey firefighters are stepping in to help ambulance crews gain quick access to the homes of patients who are critically ill and unable to open their doors to paramedics. They have taken on a new role gaining entry to locked properties in medical emergencies to help the ambulance service save even more lives.

We think this is a great way to ensure people in need get the attention required from the paramedics and it’s great to see the emergency services working closely together.
